Les Cléfs d’Or

By this time, Maison Pouyanne had become an integral part of the international capital of fashion, working alongside the nobility of haute couture: Worth, Poiret, Doucet, Vionnet and Schiaparelli, amongst others. In creative partnership with Madeleine Vionnet, the maison developed pioneering techniques that enabled the creation of her celebrated dégradé gowns. With Elsa Schiaparelli, Louis Pouyanne shaped the shade of pink that would become the emblem of her house during this period.

In 1939, Pouyanne was awarded the Cléfs d’Or, a distinction that crowned the excellence of its savoir-faire and the trust it had earnt from the most esteemed institutions. A defining moment in its history, this honour became a symbol of prestige and recognition, when the light of Pouyanne’s legacy began to shine far beyond its time.
